That changes your marketing."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Colorado splits the trades in a way that catches contractors out, particularly if they have worked in another state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\n<li><strong>Plumbing<\/strong> is licensed statewide by the <a href=\"https:\/\/dpo.colorado.gov\/Plumbing\">Colorado State Plumbing Board<\/a>, every grade from apprentice through to plumbing contractor.<\/li>\n\n\n<li><strong>HVAC and mechanical<\/strong> work is <strong>not<\/strong> licensed at state level. Credentials are issued by individual cities and counties, so what is required of you depends on the jurisdiction the job is in.<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What that means for a plumber<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You have something most contractors we work with do not: a single credential, a public register, and a customer who can confirm you in half a minute. Use it. Licence number in the footer of every page, and a link straight to the state verification page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Linking to verification is the part almost nobody does, and it is the part that works. Displaying a number asserts something. Linking to the register says you expect to be checked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What that means for an HVAC contractor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The opposite problem. There is no register for a homeowner to check you against, so they fall back on whatever your website gives them &mdash; and most HVAC websites in Colorado give them nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is an opportunity, because the bar is low. Build the page that does the job a licence would do elsewhere:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\n<li>The cities and counties you hold mechanical credentials in, named<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Your general liability and workers&#8217; compensation limits<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Your technicians&#8217; certifications &mdash; EPA 608, NATE, manufacturer training<\/li>\n\n\n<li>A plain statement that you pull permits and have work inspected<\/li>\n\n\n<li>How long you have worked in the area, and photographs of jobs on recognisable streets<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Specific claims like these are more persuasive than a licence number would be, because they are checkable and your competitors are not making them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Permits are a trust signal, not admin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Saying plainly that you pull permits separates you from the operators who do not. Homeowners who have been burned once know exactly what that sentence means, and the ones who have not will still read it as professionalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">One more thing about altitude<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most HVAC website templates are built for cooling-dominant markets, because most HVAC marketing advice is written in the sunbelt. In a Colorado mountain valley, heating is the primary season and a furnace failure in January carries a frozen-pipe consequence behind it.
